We use labels to identity members of our tribe, and to be identified by them. The problem is that from the inside, labels define “us,” but from the outside, labels define “them.” And yet, each of us is more than a label. Every human is a nexus of identities - of race, ethnicity, gender, sexuality, religion, culture, education, profession - the list is endless. We’ve brought together work that examines these identities in order to bring more people into “us.”
